CONSUMER ALERT: What is wrong with The Power Plate vibration machine?

Do a little research on whole body vibration exercise machines and you’ll find that the largest company is Powerplate. Now at first glance that should mean their product is top quality. Not so fast. It’s anything but. Here’s how I discovered that many good people are getting taken for a ride.

A while back I tried their two most popular units, the Power Plate my3 and the Power Plate my5.

On first impression, I must confess the Power Plate is very pleasing to the eye. It’s a sleek, space-age design. But then things started to sour once I got on the Power Plate to test-drive it.

I can’t begin to tell you how uncomfortable it is. Even still, I tried a few basic whole body exercises while on the machine. And would you believe I ended up with a pain in my back and neck?

The whole point of these machines is ease of exercise, especially for people with limited mobility. And these machines are supposed to aid people who have back and neck problems. Ok, so that’s two strikes against the Powerplate. But there’s more...

Dig deep into whole body vibration exercise and you’ll find that the health benefits we all want from these machines comes from a pivotal or oscillating platform. In fact, Dr. Brent Feland at BYU again validated research that clearly shows that pivotal platforms versus tri-planar systems is a no contest. The pivotal platform is what brings results. The point is the Power Plate design is based upon a tri-planar system. Thus making it inferior to machines with a pivotal platform.

I’m still scratching my head trying to figure out why Power Plate would crank out machines that won’t offer the benefits of whole body vibration exercise. Now if they did that, they would truly be leader of the pack. But as it stands, it’s three strikes and you’re out.

The best machine in terms of price, sturdiness, motor and pivotal platform is the Noblerex K-1. There’s no question about it. If they had as slick of a design and ad campaign as the Power Plate they’d blow the competition out of the water. Despite this their machine will exceed your expectations and I can speak from experience because I’ve thoroughly tested out just about every whole body exercise machine on the market.

Here are a few other people who have had a lot of success with the K1. These people also used a diet called the Dr. Ted Diet to shed weight even faster.

Why are either one of these machines good for necks and backs? I have a neck fusion that is not in good shape and I wonder if the vibration would be good or bad.

  8. You are nothing but a marketer. No better than Power Plate.

I have designed and used both Pivotal and Lineal. Both are safe if used properly and both designs have limitations.

I set up the worlds first Lineal studio, and am best mates with the guy who set up the worlds first Pivotal studio.

And no I do not sell machines to the public.

Power Plate are indeed a dishonest company on a number of levels. But 2 wrongs do not make a right.
